19 crystals to enhance your creativity

19 crystals to enhance your creativity

Creativity is one of those tricky beasts that can come and go. I find it tends to arrive at the most inconvenient time, like when I’m in the shower or trying to get to sleep and can’t do much about the ideas I come up with; and it disappears at exactly the time I need to be creative or when I’m put on the spot. Can you relate?

The sacral chakra (a few inches below our belly button) governs creativity within us. It’s the energy centre that is also linked with pleasure and passion, and physically, with our sexual and reproductive organs.

It’s no surprise then, that creativity – the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality, is driven out of our centre for pleasure and passion. I don’t know how you feel about creativity, but I know when I’m being creative, it’s fun. And infinitely rewarding!

The best creativity-enhancing crystals

Here’s a list of 19 crystals that can enhance your creativity. They’re suitable to place around your workspace, studio or whichever space you would like to bring in more creative energy; or you could lie down and place one or more on over your sacral chakra / lower abdomen area, and meditate, while envisaging creative ideas coming to you.

Ametrine – an extremely energetic stone, ametrine stimulates creativity and supports taking control of one’s life. It brings clarity, harmonising perception and action.

Carnelian – is a vibrant orange stabilising stone with strong energy, and it supports the sacral chakra. It is excellent for restoring vitality and motivation, and stimulating creativity.

Celestite – is a great creative stone, and especially useful for the arts. It urges one toward greater openness to new experiences. Placed on the third eye, it also opens a connection to universal energies, so your creativity may be divinely inspired.

Chalcedony – is a creative stone, opening the mind to assimilate new ideas, and it helps with the acceptance of new situations.

Chrysoberyl – this typically yellow or yellowy brown stone is excellent for creativity. It helps you to see different sides of a problem or situation.

Other ways of connecting with your creativity

Of course, crystals aren’t the only way of connecting (or reconnecting) with your creativity. Here are some of the ways that have previously helped me get my creative juices flowing, and which may help you:

  • Get out into nature away from the day-to-day pressures
  • Meditate or sit in peace and silence – sometimes the best ideas come in your own silence
Look at inspiring images whether it’s landscapes or abstract pictures, different colours can inspire creativity
  • Before going to bed, asking for a creative solution to a problem or challenge I’m looking at; I invariably wake up with an idea or two
  • Brainstorm with friends or colleagues – sometimes it helps to bounce ideas of other people
  • Get on with your day – sometimes creative ideas come when you least expect them!

    1. Cheers Kat! Thanks for visiting. I’m debating whether to up my frequency of blog posts, but it’s nice to actually have a few in reserve with this challenge running 🙂 I’ll let you know when it’s live!

  2. Nice to find you Melanie through the Problogger challenge. I love this list of crystals.I have a few crystals in my little ‘yoga’ shrine in my room where I meditate. There is soooo much I could learn about them. I have been learning more about essential oils and Aurosoma as part of my yin yoga training and teaching, again so much to learn. This path of discovery is really infinite isn’t it. I’m very impressed with all your qualifications and experience (from your about page). I share a journalism and marketing background too.
